About the Oregon Epicurean

The Oregon Epicurean is a successor to the Corvallis Epicurean, a blog I operated from 2010 to 2012. The Corvallis Epicurean was too narrow in scope, and that's why I stopped posting to it. I'll be trying to cast a wider net on the new one.

The Oregon Epicurean will have a strong orientation toward alcoholic beverages produced in the state - beer, wine, cider and distilled spirits, and will thus have a wider scope than my other blog, Distilled in Oregon, which supplements the book of the same title.

I'll also be posting the occasional restaurant review. At one time, because of the availability of reviews on sites such as Yelp, I was thinking there was no need for these, but a visit to a Portland restaurant in late 2015 made me realize that you can't always trust the ratings on Yelp (more on this in a future post).

I'll try my best to get an article or two posted every month. I'm spread pretty thin right now, with two active blogs, promoting my book and writing a second one. So check in every few weeks, and hopefully you'll find new content of interest.
